Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas) can’t quite figure out why this administration refused to make a decision on the Keystone XL pipeline that would create thousands of jobs for U.S. workers.  He stated that the U.S. fought and won WWII in less time than this administration has had to evaluate the project. 

Barton reminded Sec. Jones:  “There are 10 other agencies that have reviewed this project and – correct me if I’m wrong, but my understanding is that the Corps of Engineers approved it, the Department of Agriculture approved it, the Department of Interior approved it, the Department of Transportation approved it, the Environmental Protection Agency – believe it or not – approved it, the Defense Department approved it; the Justice Department approved it, the Homeland Security Department approved it and the Department of Commerce approved it. Only the State Department, which I believe, by law is required to look at the International implications since its trans-Canada — only the State Department did not approve it.”

Forty months (almost 3 1/2 years) have been spent on study and evaluation by ten government agencies.  I have to wonder if the reasons might be because it would benefit unemployed U.S. citizens and curtail the need for OPEC oil. 

Of course, it could also be that Warren Buffet’s railway investments would benefit greatly if we take the oil and not build the pipeline.

Pundits viewing last night’s SOTU address from the left heard the hope for change that they wanted to believe this President is capable of effecting.  Those from the right heard more lies and purposefully misleading statements causing them to believe the speech was little more than a televised campaign stump speech.

I watched the presentation and couldn’t help laughing nervously as I heard the truth, lies, and interpolated facts offered.  President Obama said that he was going to make government more efficient; shortly thereafter he noted the need for creating a new bureaucracy called the Trade Enforcement Agency.  He offered to centralize unemployment with a government run website.  He offered to consolidate federal bureaucracies with a “new unit”.  (I heard that to mean more employees for another inefficient federal bureaucracy like Homeland Security…but that’s just me).

He said in order to restore American superiority in science and technology, we may have to offer incentives to foreigners.  He made no mention of returning the current school system from the social, ecological and political indoctrination centers they have become to facilities for teaching science, math, world and U.S. geography and history.

To be sure the indoctrination has a firm hold, he suggested a bill to make all public education draftees stay under the influence of the government until they graduate or turn eighteen.  Combined with earlier proposals for mandated pre-school, that would give the government mind control over our children for the early formative years through what would normally be the development of independent thought.

Continuing on the education front, he also projected that there should be incentives to retain teachers and reward the best ones.  As a caveat he suggested the removal of the bad ones.  (With his love of strong unions, I doubt that any bad teachers will be identified.  It could happen, I suppose, if one was to teach the Constitution or express an opinion other than liberal progressive).

I also happened to notice his expression of need to rebuild the transportation infrastructure and create jobs in the construction industry.  I waited to hear him announce the billions of dollars in recent contracts for building or rebuilding bridges, but that didn’t happen.  Specifically, I am talking about those which were awarded to Chinese national companies who supply imported Chinese labor.  http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/video/us-bridges-roads-built-chinese-firms-14594513?tab=9482930?ion=1206853&playlist=14594944  Once again, this administration has taken borrowed American dollars to pay foreign workers or foreign countries for American projects at the expense of unemployed or underemployed American workers.

So, that’s what I saw and heard, what about you?

I’m certain it will be an arm’s length investigation investigation.  The arm used may be a short-arm, but that’s what we’ve been getting since January 21, 2009.

And, as an extra added bonus, the man testifying before the committee was installed as the CEO of General Motors by the very same government that is investigating the investigation of the green project into which billions of government monies were invested.

Here’s the lineage of inbred progress for his takeover.  In July 2009, shortly after Obama became President, Akerson, as a representative of the U.S. Treasury under the tax challenged Timothy Geithner, was appointed to the board of directors of GM.  Akerson’s experience qualifying him for the position was in the communications industry. He was, however, a close friend and large donor to Obama.  In 2010, he became CEO when Ed Whitaker was summarily dismissed by the primary stock holder (the U.S. government) and he assumed the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors early last year.

Obama wants to make every aspect of every industry a monochromatic green, at any cost.  He refuses to allow an estimated 22,000 people employment on the Keystone XL project.  Instead, he is willing to allow those jobs and that petroleum and  much needed by-products to be shipped to China for refining and sale.  He has “invested” hundreds of billions (if not untold trillions) of borrowed American taxpayer dollars in solar companies that have failed miserably after receiving the money.  He “invested” our dollars in Finland with (Fisker Automotive), a company making an all electric automobile that only 2% of the American public can afford to purchase.  At least at this point, Fisker seems to be a viable company.

I, for one, am looking forward to hearing the forthright testimony of Mr. Akerson.  I’m sure we’ll find out that the blazing Volts were a product of faulty wiring schematics produced by the G.W. Bush administration simply to make Obama look bad.

There will be no dancing around the truth like with A.G. Eric Holder, Rahm Emanuel, Janet Napolitano or Solyndra’s CEO Brian Harrison or CFO Bill Stover when they appear before Congress.

Any questions why I call this Bizarro World, USA?

Well kids that day has come to pass but the all-bark Buffett has denied that the definition of “is” is is.  When Republican Congressman Scott Rigell made a contribution equal to 15% of his income to the government, he expected Mr. Buffett to follow through with a proportional match.  Buffett, however, matched the dollar amount, not the income percentage.

Rigell’s offering was +/- 15% of his congressional salary for the year 2011 and has pledged to do the same for 2012.  Buffett, veering from his 2007 statement regarding the inequality of payment rate between him and his secretary, chose to match Rigell’s dollar amounts ($23,000 for 2011 and $26,000 for 2012) not the percentage.

Honest contributions to pay down the national debt amount to:  Rigell, +/- 15% of annual income and Buffett, +/- 0.0005% of annual income.  Buffett’s the one with the mouth, but when it came time to put up, he squirreled up.

Isn’t this ’bout typical of the most vocal?  Well, except for Obama who said right up front that he was going to fundamentally change America.  In just 3 years he has changed us from a struggling but working nation with a viable middle class into one of rich elite and poor, with no hope for the middle class.

Thank you Congressman Rigell for showing us, once again, the true colors of the liberal progressive elite.

We keep hearing via the MSM arm of the administration how well Spending Package I and II have done for the economy.  Of late, the spin has been that unemployment is dropping, though there are no hard figures of where the creation of jobs provides a net gain over layoffs.  Retail sales are up, but they’re flat.  Manufacturing is up, yet our trade deficit exceeds the accretion.

Because of the overwhelming liberal bias of major information sources, most people only hear or read one side of most stories.  Headlines like “Home Sales on the Rise” overshadow those reading “Foreclosures Increase by 20%”.  We are being fed all that the government wants us to hear while counter arguments are suppressed.  Banners of “Eat All the Vegetables You Want, They’re Good for You” obscure “EPA Regulations Cause Farm Prices to Soar”.

“Defense Spending to be Cut by $500 Billion” avoids the level playing field effect of the administration.  American superiority on the battle field is cause for another apology tour.  Besides, the savings can be sent to the Muslim Brotherhood for greater equality.

Some times, we are presented with only half of the headline or half of the full article.  “President Obama Asks Congress For Another $1.2 Trillion” should be completed with “For More Busses Under Which American Citizens Can Be Thrown”.

The stated reason for combining the Commerce Department’s core business and trade functions; the Small Business Administration; the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative; the Export-Import Bank; the Overseas Private Investment Corporation; and the Trade and Development Agency is to help businesses thrive.  The true intent for the consolidation seems not to increase efficiency, but to maximize the collective authority these agencies hold over domestic business.

Read the headlines, read the story then ask who wrote it and how he or she is trying to influence you.  Re-elect Barack Obama, I don’t think so.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. –  The U.S. Department of Labor is offering more than $20 million in grants to organizations that will help former prisoners find work.

Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis made the announcement in Newport News on Thursday, saying those who have served their time deserve a second chance to make a positive contribution to society. About 700,000 inmates are released from state and federal prisons each year.

Nationwide, the Labor Department expects to award 17 grants worth about $1.21 million each as part of the program.

The grants will target organizations in high-poverty, high-crime communities.

Solis made the announcement following a roundtable discussion with community leaders.

This administration is dragging down the economy; doing everything possible to limit opportunities for the middle class.  Now they want thieves, rapists, child molesters, batterers etc. to have a competitive edge over upstanding hard working, law abiding and moral taxpaying citizens.  Those men and women have been earnestly seeking gainful employment during the just incarceration of the societal misfits. 

The government wants to subsidize the pay for ex-cons  and early release recipients so that criminals can take the few available jobs.  Why not just send a supplemental income check to every illegal immigrant as well?  How about borrowing another 2-3 trillion dollars from China to support the needy in Cuba and Venezuela?

Oops, I hope this administration doesn’t construe that last paragraph as a suggestion.

Likin’ that change now?

I knew that one didn’t have to be aggravatingly abrasive in order to achieve knowledge.  I did understand the button, which came in very handy when I awakened to how politics were shaping my life, like it or not.

I am constantly amazed how words of the English language can be misinterpreted or over interpolated and broadcast to benefit a particular plan or idea.  It is done constantly by politicians as well as marketing campaigns and sales pitches.  If we accept the words without question, the influential affect can be tremendous and in some cases devastating.  “We the People” are manipulated daily from myriad directions without any awareness or thought to question.  However, we must question.

Here I offer a video from Brasscheck to view with an observant mind.  It is a 2006 dissertation by Keith Olbermann when he was with MSNBC.  No matter which party you endorse; no matter what your political views, I urge you to view the eight-and-a-half minute video, then listen to it a second time with your eyes closed, substituting Obama each time you hear the name Gingrich.  It will still be true.

The same words have an entirely different affect on the psyche and may even alter your belief system.  I doubt that even today Mr. Olbermann recognizes the wisdom of his own words which were once voiced in outrage against a man because of an (R) following his name.

Train yourself to confront each important piece of ‘factual information’ presented to you and you will be able to make much better decisions for yourself, your loved ones and our country.  Today, with the Internet available with answers to any question, you don’t have to be an acerbic jerk to achieve disclosure.

This administration apparently believes that creating a crisis in order to do things they could not do otherwise is an acceptable method of accomplishing that which the public opposes.

1. Use or create a situation – e.g. housing foreclosures
2. Have it touted in the media and by other spokes persons as a crisis
3. Implement the “solution” – use billions of taxpayer dollars to bail out Wall Street mortgage lenders, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mack so that top level executives can receive annual bonuses beyond the lifetime earnings of most Americans.
4. Institute unreasonable restrictions and regulations on employers so they fear expanding business or hiring the unemployed workers who are losing their homes.
5. Impose regulations on energy to make the cost “necessarily skyrocket” for businesses and individuals alike.
6. When the solution fails (for the public but reaches the intended objective) claim it is because the crisis was greater than imagined in the beginning and more money is needed to correct the situation.
7. Restart at #1.

If it still doesn’t ruin a country, create a third or tenth situation  Do whatever it takes to justify and effect fundamental transformation.

On March 26, 2009 Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said, “We have to recognize and accept that the demand for drugs from the United States drives them north, and the guns that are used by the drug cartels against the police and the military, 90 percent of them come from America.”

In April 2009 Obama repeated the claim that more than 90 percent of the guns recovered in Mexico come from the United States.  Perhaps to give it greater credibility, Sen. Dick Durbin and Sen. Diane Feinstein, the New York Times, the Chicago Tribune and NBC followed suit and repeated the misleading number.  Mexican Ambassador Arturo Sarukhan used the figure in an interview with CBS because it was seemingly accepted.

We now must understand that the reason for such statements is to prepare us (the American citizens) for the eventual restrictions that will be placed on gun purchases.  After that, there is no where to go but to take guns out of the hands of the otherwise law abiding citizenry.  Soon “We the People” will be in a position parallel to that of Mexico and many dictatorships around the globe where gun restrictions are such that you must be a criminal to own a self defense weapon.

There is no denying the fact that hundreds and even thousands of guns used by the drug cartels come from the United States.  We supply many of them to the Mexican military and law enforcement.  Those guns often are given to the outlaws when soldiers and law enforcement personnel change sides and either take their weapons with them or open armories to the cartels.  BATFE directs FFL dealers to sell to known straw buyers who purchase weapons on behalf of cartels.

Other individual guns used by Mexican criminals make their away across our porous border as smugglers run back and forth across it.  Nevertheless, 90% is a fictitious figure even when our own government puts the guns in the hands of criminals, then counts them.  A more accurate number, including those meant for legitimate enforcement services, seems around 20% – 25% when the BATFE contributions are removed from the equation.

To be sure that the plan worked, the number of Border Patrol agents has been reduced by relocation to areas known for less traffic.  The administration mandated that ICE officials no longer deport illegal aliens unless they have committed a second or successive major felony and are no longer of value to the FBI or any department under Homeland Security.  Multiple prior deportations or incarcerations matter naught.  With the new year, the number of National Guard assigned to border regions is to be halved assuring safe and uninterrupted passage for human, drug and weapons traffic.

Fast and Furious might be the code name for a weapons trafficking operation (long guns, automatic, semiautomatic, AK-47s, machine guns, bazookas, whatever) conceived and designed to illustrate the need for gun control, but it is also an adequate description of how this administration is destroying our country.

A child with head down, speaking softly to him or herself or humming a gospel tune during lunch or recess receives a three day suspension for praying on school grounds.  A note is archived in their permanent record for reference in case of any future disruptions.

A manager brings his secretary flowers and mentions her hair color is very becoming.  She complains of sexual harassment and receives a five figure settlement while the boss spends ten hours attending unpaid sensitivity training.

You can buy a health insurance policy that will cover Viagra, condoms or abortion but will not cover a needed knee replacement or carpal tunnel syndrome.

A parent or guardian must sign a comprehensive liability release so that a male child can have a complete health exam prior to try-outs for the soccer or football team.  No such requirement, or even mandated parental notification, is necessary for a school to send a 12-year-old girl to a doctor for an abortion.

A belligerent activist who is removed from a town hall meeting for his disruptive action files a seven figure lawsuit naming the police, city, private venue owners, host and presenter for racism because his ethnic background is not represented in the event.

Houses of worship acquiesce to the removal of nativity scenes because they present a view different from, and unwelcome by, the two local atheists.

A disabled war hero loses a lawsuit for displaying a flag in front of his home on Memorial Day.  The exposition is considered overly patriotic and offensive to people not born in this country.

Men and women who “believe themselves” to be of a sexual orientation other than their apparent gender may use the toilet facilities of their choosing at public events, libraries, parks and other municipal buildings.

Black Panthers can intimidate voters at the polling booth by displaying “nightstick” clubs in a threatening manner without repercussion but handing out political flyers down the block will net the perpetrator a day in jail and fine.

Burning a Bible is acceptable, but accidentally dropping a Koran is disrespectful and warrants severe punishment.  The ACLU will fight, and often win, cases of religious persecution tried by liberal judges.

Bankers, brokers, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac threaten bankruptcy and receive billions of dollars by obligating productive workers and their families to multi-generational debt.  Meanwhile the “C” level executives of those companies and organizations take home multi-million dollar bonuses for doing a stellar job of leading.

Congress makes laws for the citizens from which they exempt themselves during and after their elected service.  Insider trading, health care, tax exemptions, reimbursable expenses and retirement are just a few of the myriad exclusions.

Can I be the only one who sees this once great nation overwhelmingly and rapidly becoming the world of BIZARRO?
