From the National Journal:

If President Obama’s news conference accomplished anything on Wednesday afternoon, it underscored, in striking tones, his strategy for winning the debt ceiling fight with Republicans: Make it a clash of classes.

  • Rich versus Poor.
  • Us versus Them.
  • Those who support children, food safety, medical research and, presumably, puppies and apple pie versus the rich fat cats who don’t.

Hang on gang; it’s going to get rough.

He’s already tried the “racist” thing.  It may have actually worked for a while.  He won’t let that go because it’s being echoed by every liberal in America.  You know.  If you don’t agree with his policies; his appointing Czars and creating major bureaucracies or his spending your money to bail out his friends and donors or throwing lavish dinners and concerts in the White House with famous rock star and Hollywood celebrities to entertain his daughters or creating a health care debacle that will force you to buy something you may not want or need or his spending more time golfing and vacationing at your expense than he spends on the business of the country, it’s only because you’re an ignorant, hateful, gun-toting, bible-thumping racist.

He’s already tried blaming Bush for everything.  (I think he even tried to blame Bush for the devastation caused to Japan by a tsunami.)  He said he would reverse everything done in the previous eight years yet really doesn’t have a clue about what was done or how to undo it.  Nevertheless, that too, worked for a while.  Now, even the DNC Chairperson Debbie Wasserman Schultz, admits the economy that’s in the tank and getting worse, is his.  He won’t, and she’s undoubtedly in severe trouble for saying it, even if he does think she’s cute.

Now, it seems, he’s going to try to pit Americans against Americans, baiting us with rich vs. poor and again black vs. white and white vs. Hispanics and kids vs. adults as well as liberals vs. conservatives.  It seems he’ll try anything short of jumping up and down shaking his fists and yelling “My way, it’s got to be my way”!  (I’m personally not convinced that he doesn’t do that behind closed doors.)

He cannot justify his policies or his arguments…any of them, so he has to point fingers, call names, blame others and create chaos.  The country is on fire; men, women and children are fighting and killing one another out of frustration and fear.

If only he had a fiddle!  I guess in the 21st century a set of golf clubs will have to suffice.

Anything to demean the country.

Obama said, “There are some structural issues with our economy where a lot of businesses have learned to become more efficient with a lot fewer workers.  You see it when you go to a bank and use an ATM, you don’t go to a bank teller, or you go to the airport and you’re using a kiosk instead of checking in at the gate”.

At least one article in the WSJ quotes him as saying, “Globalization and technology and automation all weaken the position of workers”, [Obama] said, and a strong government hand is needed to assure that wealth is distributed more equitably”.

He doesn’t seem to realize that ATMs and kiosks don’t just appear out of nowhere.  It’s the high cost of unions that force the jobs overseas, but they still exist.  The concentration should be in bringing the jobs back home.

How many jobs go into an ATM?

1. Engineering

2. Plant management

3. Administration and support

4. Model Making

5. Prototype development

6. Manufacturing

7. Production

8. Marketing

9. Sales

10. Delivery

11. Setup

12. Servicing

13. Repair and replacement.

On the other hand, you could have a person paid slightly more than minimum wage hand you a $20 bill.

Ignorance of business: what it takes, and what it gives to be productive and contributing to the economy seems to be his weakness.  With no understanding of anything other than corrupt politics, coercion, collusion and intimidation, how can this administration ever expect to get the country right again?  Oh, yeah, there never was intent to do that.  He stated early and often that his plan was to “fundamentally transform” the nation.

The President has since restated his position on technology to acknowledge American manufacturing as an option to growing the economy.  Perhaps he embarrassed himself with his earlier unintelligent remarks.  Nah!  It was Bush’s fault.

Leaders of a national Hispanic organization are criticizing President Barack Obama for skipping their annual conference for the third consecutive year after he promised as a candidate in 2008 that he would return as president.

Some members of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials also are questioning Obama’s commitment to immigration reform, noting that deportations have increased under his watch — even as the administration intensifies its outreach for Hispanic votes. NALEO, which includes more than 6,000 Latino leaders who represent major blocs of voters in key electoral states, opens its annual conference Thursday in San Antonio.

Once again, he has said one thing and done another.  Now his Hispanic base is somewhat less than pleased with him.   He’s no longer catering to them, he’s crapping on them just like he’s crapping on the rest of us.

The MSM, however, cannot report with any accuracy about the number of Hispanics leaving the country.  “Noting that deportations have increased under his watch” subtly intimates that he has stepped up actions to clear the country of illegal entrants.  In fact, the number of departures has increased because the President’s economic policies are less favorable or enticing than those of our neighbors to the South.  Even with the free-bees of medical care and Welfare thrown in, it is more important for families to be together now.  The move has been largely by choice, not eviction.

The economy isn’t working for we peons, so the First lady is taking the family on an “official visit to emerging democracies”.  Some might consider it a summer vacation for family and friends of the President.  Obviously, they would be racist for suggesting that.
The good news is that because it’s been tagged as an “official visit” we, the peons, get to pay for it.
And they want to tax the rich, HA!

WASHINGTON (AP) — Michelle Obama will honor the legacy of Nelson Mandela and the struggle against apartheid during an official visit to southern Africa next week.
For her second solo international trip, the first lady has scheduled stops in South Africa and Botswana, two growing democracies, where she’ll continue her work encouraging young people to get involved in national affairs. She’ll also promote education, health and wellness.
The previously announced June 20-26 trip begins Monday in Johannesburg. Mrs. Obama will also stop in Pretoria and Cape Town in South Africa before moving on to Gaborone, the capital of Botswana. The trip ends with a private family safari at a South African game reserve before the return to Washington on June 27.
She will be accompanied by her daughters Malia and Sasha, her mother, Marian Robinson, and her niece and nephew, Leslie and Avery Robinson.
White House officials said Wednesday that the trip will help advance the administration’s agenda in Africa.
Mrs. Obama will spend most of her time in South Africa. She is scheduled to meet with Mandela’s wife, Graca Machel, tour the Nelson Mandela Foundation, where his papers are stored, and visit the Apartheid Museum, which tells the story of the rise and fall of the now-abolished system of white-minority rule.
The first lady also plans a ferry ride to Robben Island, where Mandela spent 18 of the 27 years he was imprisoned for fighting apartheid.
Mrs. Obama will also meet with Nompumelelo Ntuli-Zuma, the wife of South African President Jacob Zuma, and with Botswana’s president, Ian Khama.

Some time back a fellow patriot introduced me to a mental health professional (To protect his practice, I will not state his name, discipline or the location of his practice and will refer to him simply as X, without license, earned title or level of education).  The introduction included the fact that he was a liberal.  We, at least I, enjoyed a brief political jousting on a couple of occasions and it was clear that there was little common ground between our views.

He refuses to watch FOXNews because they are racist, bigoted, biased Republicans and show nothing but hatred.  I, on the other hand, enjoy watching the red-faced, vein popping expression of tenderness and benevolence I find on MSNBC.  It’s like a comedy channel with made-up news.   They’re liberals.

Recently, I received an email about a writing, with a link to the source, and decided to follow up on the truth and attribution of the authorship.  What I found was, to me, a surprisingly accurate assessment of the President.

I sent an email to my new acquaintance asking for his analysis of the document.  I copied and attached a portion of the book “Malignant Self Love”.  The portion in particular that I found interesting titled Narcissistic and Psychopathic Leaders in History with the sub-head Barack Obama – Narcissist, Or Merely Narcissistic?

In my research, I read blogs claiming that the author, Dr. Vaknin, is a psychopath and an idiot.  (Thus far, I have not identified a foundation for the accusations)  So I chose to forward the excerpt from the book for an honest and objective opinion from a mental health professional.  Below is the actual communication as it ensued.  I have cut and pasted the exchanges with the only changes being the elimination of his personal information to maintain his anonymity.

Hello X,

I received an email and in my follow-up research I found the following scholarly writing about narcissism.

Because you are a mental health professional, I am interested in your objective opinion of this PhD’s work.  Please let me know your views.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

But X, there’s nothing to watch.  It’s an excerpt from a book.  Blindly renouncing what may be true without even seeing or hearing or in any way exposing yourself to it is not healthy.

Denying yourself the opportunity to read another professional’s work doesn’t sound liberal, tolerant, accepting or inclusive.  That behavior doesn’t allow for growth.  It sounds more like ignorant of potential truths and choosing to remain so.

And I thought you were a reasonable liberal.  Now I know!

I’ll continue to look at both sides of humanity and politics and form enlightened and reasoned opinions.

Ooh!  Sounds like somebody needs about 40 hours of anger management and sensitivity training.

Note that there are no specifics identified, simply a string of derogatory and spite filled terms.  As usual, this educated liberal is unable to defend his views and thus has to resort to name-calling and run away from the conversation.  I invite each and every individual, liberal or conservative, reading this blog to explore a number of postings and let me know where I have been an “ignorant, rageful, expelling of a bitter, racist, narcisstic man who loves to have lots of scapegoats to rationalize the difficult times we live in”.  (His words and spelling, not mine)

If I may ask, please leave your comments so that I might correct my ways and become a better conservative.  Pointed, tough, opinionated, expressive – yes, I am.   The rest, I don’t see it in myself.  Please help me out, I can handle it.

It all started with an honest and sincere request for an appraisal of another man’s work which was apparently never read.  It ended with the venom spewing of a compassionate licensed professional who earns his living helping people maintain or regain their mental stability and continued mental health.
