HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT

Just why, again, is unemployment so high when there are jobs available?  It could be because of the political correctness advanced by our failed public education system.  Yes, when students hear for twelve school years that in order to get ahead they must only want to get ahead, it has to have an affect on the child’s psyche.  That’s why they expect to be placed in a mid level management position with a salary of $50K+ when they graduate, waving a degree that they can’t even read; that’s why they refuse to take any job that requires work for commensurate compensation.

Many of today’s youthful generation have been so coddled that they know it is someone else’s duty to take care of them for life.  Even the government touts that they are incapable of doing so on their own.  You can have it if you want it (for the first 12 years), but you need the government’s help (for the rest of your life).  That’s got to set up a conflict on an undereducated mind.  The easy way out is to go with the government and let them take care of everyone.

That’s why we have 35 year-olds still living in their parent’s home, not because jobs are not available.  It is because they refuse to accept employment considered beneath them.  Having to show up on time, perform and contribute to the welfare of a company is beneath them.  It is better not to work, and receive funds from the government.  It also gives one much more time to enjoy the pleasures of life without having to schedule around a regular and lengthy appearance at an employment site.

Capitalism is so stupid anyway.  Just ask any member of an Occupy (whatever) crowd.  The idea of work / reward is so yesterday when you can have the government pay you to do nothing.

When you add all the benefits of Welfare, there is little reason to work for your support.  Once on Welfare, you get a debit card to spend on food or cigarettes or alcohol.  True, retailers are not supposed to accept SNAP or EBT or WIC for anything other than necessities, but that rarely matters.  Check out the “We accept” signs in front of your local bottle shop.  The most nutritious life sustaining item you might find inside is probably a bag of potato chips.

Welfare also qualifies you for clothing, training, tools, transportation assistance, Section 8 housing, child care, access to food banks, Medicaid, computer, cell phone…  The list is so long that the recipients have to be counseled by a government case worker to know everything that is available to them for “free”.

Hard work and long hours just allows the government to take more and more of your earnings until you break and submit to a subsistence level of care and support (with a cell phone).  If you want more than you get from the government, you can always protest in the streets, create chaos and threaten the economy until the government takes more from the productive few for your benefit.

Every newspaper and every state employment office have jobs listed that go unfilled for weeks on end.  You can see signs in virtually every industrial park or retail center asking potential employees to apply.  The unemployment numbers are so high because people would rather gather to sleep in tents, chant, bang drums and holler about how the “1 Percenters” are taking it all and holding them back.
