FUN WITH EMAIL

On Wednesday of this week (just a week after the election), I sent out a posting from another blog, The Duffleblog.com.  I visit this site from time to time when I feel a need to laugh at the naked truth.  It can be as hilarious as any “news” presented from the left.  The difference being that the satire is sometimes a bit more believable than what the personalities on MSNBC present as real news.

In their About Us section they state, “The Duffel Blog serves the men and women of the US Military with a daily dose of military humor, funny military pictures, and faux news.  We take an interesting and funny look at military life.  We focus on veterans, military stories, defense, politics (sometimes) and life on base — with a comedic twist.  We are in no way, shape, or form, a real news outlet.  Just about everything on this website is satirical in nature”.

Anyway, I did a copy and paste of an article regarding the military and the election adding a few words of my own as an introduction.  As with most of the postings from this site, it was blatantly obvious that this could not be taken seriously, or so I thought.

I sent the posting as a taunting, to see who was paying attention.  I was looking for responses but I got only three.  I sent the email to 42 friends and acquaintances.  Both liberals and conservatives received it.  As of this posting, only one recognized it as a blog posting and so stated in an email reply.  One sent a link to factcheck.org and one simply questioned where I had gotten the information.

Thank you Larry, Mac, and Tom for paying attention.  For the rest, please begin to question information that looks too much like something you want to hear or that which is so incredulous you don’t want to believe it.  Some of it may actually be true and you should know “what is real and what is Memorex”.

Watching both MSNBC and FOXNews might cause you to question what is real and make you research the truth.  Then you can actually make informed decisions and maybe rethink your preformed opinions.  Going through life listening to only one side simply promotes ignorance.  It’s like extending public education into adulthood.
