GOOD-BYE 22nd AMENDMENT

There is a move afoot, once again, to repeal the 22nd Amendment which was added to eliminate the future possibility of monarchy rule in the United States.  We have already seen the calculated erosion of our Constitution through liberal court rulings, presidential edicts, and abusive, over-restrictive regulation.  The foundation for an absolute monarchy is made possible through exactly this type of disintegration.  Obama has, since before his first election, been referred to as the Second Coming of the Lord and he has treated the presidency as such.

AMENDMENT XXII

Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.  But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Section 2. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.

The Fundamental Transformation of America is in progress with government becoming bigger and more powerful with each law, regulation, and restriction imposed upon us.  The increase of entitlement dependency brings with it not only a need for continuance but augmentation of those entitlements.  Job growth and economic stability, though spoken of constantly by our leader, are not goals for the near future.  Subordination and even subservience to the government are.  The government is now overbearing and no longer serving the citizens, it is requiring that we feed it.

Representative, Jose Serrano (D -NY) recently introduced H.J.Res 15, aimed at repealing the twenty-second article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms any individual may serve as President.

We saw in the most recent election that the Democratic machine is capable of producing 103% turnout of registered voters in a district, all of whom voted for Obama.  We know that the Attorney General oversees and conveniently covers for impertinent and downright illegal indiscretions of agencies under his jurisdiction, and we know that the president ultimately and rather regularly cloaks truth by invoking executive privilege.  All recent presidents have used the “National Security” defense to seclude the truth from the public.  The Department of Homeland Security eviscerates our freedoms, calling it assurance of our safety.  This behavior will only evolve and become increasingly constrictive to our unalienable rights with the chucking of presidential term limits.

Rep. Serrano and others have, in the past, introduced legislation to repeal of the 22nd Amendment.  None of the attempts, to date, received enough votes for passage.  This or perhaps the next attempt could do the trick.  If not, there’s always the declaration of martial law to assure continuity of rule.  I say rule, not governance, because that is what we now have.

For those of you on the left embracing the thought of an everlasting Obama presidency, be mindful that a coup d’état could mean an ongoing conservative dictator in the Oval Office.  Neither one is right for the United States.
