The rights of Americans guaranteed at one time by the Bill of Rights (the first ten amendments to the Constitution of the United States) are being constantly and continuously eroded by the very government officials we elect to protect them. By doing so, the government becomes stronger, more confining and more intrusive. We are on the way to tyranny as the ever expanding public educated indoctrinated, self-absorbed dolt culture of the nation give their attention to Facebook and the Kardashians rather than to their own lives and futures or the future of the nation in which they live.

They, the elected elite, with each executive order, law, ordinance, injunction and regulation restrict our constitutional rights. The compilation becomes so convoluted that even the legalistic interpreters cannot agree on what takes precedence, constitutional law or case law. Case law lives from the liberal interpolation of constitutional law and the more case law predominates, the further we stray from the founding documents – the core of the nation.

The incantation that we must sacrifice some of our rights and freedoms to maintain our safety grows louder and stronger with the stripping or muddying of each of those rights. Another mantra is that the changes are good for the majority. However, as we do accept the government plunder and relinquish those rights, more is demanded from us with little resulting security or mutual benefit.

The first example to illustrate the above concerns might logically start with the 1st Amendment.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Clearly, this amendment has been prostituted by the powers that be. Making no law respecting the establishment of religion now means that no praying or mention of God (other than Islam and Muhammad it now seems) is allowed in any government institution or on any public grounds. Heaven forbid the child who wears a cross or Star of David to public school. This does not constitute the establishment or even the endorsement of religion by congress or any government entity. It is personal identity with God.

The second clause of the 1st amendment is also despoiled in the current age. Free speech now resides in “Free Speech Zones” on school campuses and in many cities and towns. Liberals want to limit or abate natural thought expressed to others through a “Fairness Doctrine” that dictates every positive presented over airwaves or in print must include an off-setting negative. That’s not free speech, that’s government controlled speech. Hate speech is another way for government to subordinate this 1st Amendment right by identifying and prosecuting how and what is said or done, by whom, where and when.

Peaceful assembly to redress grievances against the government is now an unlaughable joke in itself. How can people peacefully assemble where we can be heard when H.R. 347  denies “We the People” the opportunity? What better way is there to get the attention of government officials than when they are in the very public (taxpayer paid) buildings that harbor them as they continue to aggravate the populace?

Of course, teachers picketing for higher wages and more benefits on public school property during regular teaching hours is never addressed under H.R. 347.

And that folks is only the mutilation of our 1st Amendment.  More to come.
