WELL, THE DEMOCRATS HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!

March 30, 2020

When it comes to wasting money and paying friends and donors, the Democrat party is the best. The last time they had the opportunity to do so on a grand scale was with the minuscule $787 billion taxpayer funded bailout know as TARP and signed by then president Obama. At that time we borrowed the money from countries around the globe; the primary note holder being China. We are still paying to reduce that obligation!

At that time, companies large and small held out their collective corporate hands, palms up, to receive respite funds from the taxpayers via the government. Many accepted the grants only to pay corporate executives huge bonuses before declaring bankruptcy that relieved them from repayment.

Probably the best known scandal of the time was Solyndra. The solar cell manufacturer received $535 million only to pay out millions in bonuses before shuttering their doors. The CEO said the “Regulatory and policy uncertainties made it impossible to raise capital to quickly rescue the operation.” I should think that $535 million in immediate funding would forestall some of the need for capital. Solyndra executives and shareholders had collectively donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Obama campaign and the DNC.

This time around, nobody can be blamed except President Trump for signing a horrendously expensive pork-laden bill. Granted, this time the urgency was greater, but none-the-less, to sign such frivolous spending into law is uncalled for. The $2.2 Trillion “Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act” (CARES Act), meant to provide for the sick and needy is so filled with socialist payouts it is hard to describe it as a recovery vehicle.

E.g. The Board of Directors for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts decided their relief did not extend to members of their own sitting orchestra, The National Symphony Orchestra. The $25 million grant written into the bill was specifically “to cover operating expenses required to ensure the continuity including for employee compensation and benefits, grants, contracts, payments for rent or utilities, fees for artists or performers,” according to the law’s text. Within hours of the signing, however, the board notified the nearly 100 member symphony that they will no longer receive paychecks after April 3. <link>

Like Solyndra, they got their money from a Democrat controlled congress then allowed their “employees” the opportunity to draw down on more taxpayer funds, or, as it is more commonly known unemployment.

Since there is not a surplus of federal funds, the money will again be borrowed from, wait for it…CHINA.

President Obama increased the debt by $9 trillion over an eight year period, and conservatives complained. President Trump just increased the debt by $2.2 trillion in one fell swoop. Socialists are high-fiving and conservatives are nervous but otherwise complacent.

If a “Republican” president can do this to our country, what would another Marxist/socialist (read: progressive Democrat) do to it. Yes, this is a time of crisis and spending is a must. But what kind of a country are we leaving for the next and future generations if we allow congress to continue throwing money away in exchange for campaign donations?

CORONAVIRUS AND WORLD DOMINATION

March 20, 2020

President Trump has been trying for over three years to close our Southern border to keep Americans safe from economic collapse and third world diseases. Democrats have fought him all the way. Congress refuses to fund a barrier. Liberal judges injunct his every effort to restructure funding beyond congressional allocations.

Now we have a pandemic and Mexico wants to stop all border crossings…from the U.S. into Mexico and they have begun stationing troops to assure it happens. Why are they acting? Because, at least for now, they have relatively few coronavirus cases. They want to protect Mexican citizens from sickness and economic hardship. Oh, how the times change!

The gift from China is changing not only our immediate national situation but that of the entire globe. Nations are locking down borders. Financial markets are responding negatively. Hospitals, clinics and urgent care centers are being overwhelmed.

Businesses are closing. The plan is to do so temporarily, but many “mom and pop” businesses will not be able to bear the ongoing hard costs while receiving little or no income. Among businesses that remain open, staffing is being cut to skeleton crews while the majority are laid off.

Citizens, well everybody, are asked to distance themselves from others by a minimum of six to ten feet; not leave their home unless it is urgent and necessary. Disinformation is rampant making rational information hard to believe.

The current situation seems to be a perfect one for instituting and enforcing the 1992 U.N. “Earth Summit” project known as Agenda 21. Agenda 21 targets global sustainability through social and economic controls, resource development along with management and conservation. It includes “strengthening society” by creating, regulating and controlling population centers including businesses, financial institutions and markets, food distribution, education, health services and technology. Basically, Agenda 21 is total control of your life and mine by a few self-appointed elite authority figures. It is a non-voluntary world mandate that we are being subtly coerced to accept.

Until now, the Covid-19 era, Agenda 21 was considered a non-binding action plan. However, if you look at the synopsis above (the constant and repetitive use of “control”, “management”, “regulated”) and relate it to what you heard on the news today, yesterday and the day before about global restrictions and abatement, you too, are bound to see some chilling parallels.

It’s all fine if you’re following and voting for socialism ’cause you want and expect all the free stuff being proposed…and you really believe it will be free and you won’t be indentured to the government.

However, if you believe in personal responsibility and independence; if you believe in working hard, keeping what you’ve earned and deciding how to spend it; if you believe you deserve to be generous and charitable on your own and not at the dictate of some unseen global cabal, world dominated socialism is not the gift you want to open.

Be reasonable, be safe, be healthy and think before you act.

AMERICAN EDUCATION TODAY

March 1, 2020

I recently came across an article (accompanied by two videos) wherein a Jimmy Kimmel “man on the street” quizzed random people on finding and identifying countries on a blank map of the world. He then shared a clip of Republicans in specific being asked the same questions. <link>

While the second clip shown was to indicate the ignorance of Republicans (because this is the focus of late night comedy today), both actually portrayed just how ineffectively public schools are educating our youth. A discerning look beyond the surface presentations illustrates a non-partisan indictment of liberal teachings of today.

As social justice, multi-gender acceptance and income inequality are promoted by the educators over core courses such as English, math, science, geography, world and U.S. history it is easy to see how and why the U.S. is forfeiting ground in education compared to other countries. Today’s youth, lacking basic knowledge and skills, are also losing the ability to move into and keep up with the needs of the current workforce.

The same people, progressives, who are advocating for more immigration to fill open positions in technology and research are the very ones who are not educating the students in their charge! This is exactly why 2.5 million available STEM positions are not being filled.

According to one Pew research study, the U.S. ranked 21st of 23 countries in math. (Could this be the reason America’s youth today cannot figure out their gas mileage or count the change from a purchase without an electronic calculating device?) In critical and analytical thought (problem solving) the ranking was 17 out of 19. (Perhaps this is why the only defense for a progressive’s position in a dispute is to end the discussion by calling their opponent RACIST and either striking out physically or walking away.)

Perhaps spending more classroom time teaching inductive and deductive reasoning and the differences between them would be appropriate. Teaching people to accept and absorb information they first encounter as fact and rejecting any dissenting information rather than giving them the tools to decide with reason what is true or appropriate is not helpful to society. Knowing how to use reasoning techniques to refute the spoon-fed ideologies of the teachers and professors would allow a student a breadth of education not offered now. Today, it seems those authority figures fail students who choose to question the propaganda. It would be a novel idea for today’s educational setting to have opposing views once again received and debated.

The type of demonstration shown by Kimmel illustrates the ignorance, not of Republicans, Democrats or Independents, but of those walking our streets in general. It becomes easy for one to see the depths to which the U.S. has fallen educationally. Given that the overwhelming majority of teachers and professors are of progressive ideology, deductively it follows that progressives are to blame for the failures in our public schools and education system.
