USING COVID-19 FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL AND SOCIETAL CONDITIONING AND CONTROL

April 30, 2020

If you think all this caution, social distancing, stay-at-home, business closings, non-essential surgery cancellations etc. are necessary to keep you and others healthy, you are already on your way to total psycho/sociological conditioning.

Not to make light of the deaths, but, as we are availed to more and more data regarding this virus, it is more and more obvious that there is less and less to fear from the virus than there is from the controls put upon us. While this virus is more widespread than the annual flu, it is proving to be proportionately less deadly. More infection; fewer deaths. Therefore, the Coronavirus (Covid-19) is roughly the same threat that we face annually between, November and March. It may even be lower when all the co-morbid deaths are separated from the actual Covid deaths. Yet, for this respiratory ailment we are being forced by the governments (federal, state and local) to completely disrupt our lives and livelihoods. Why?

Undo panic was created early with the mass purchasing and hoarding of toilet tissue. There is no association with diarrhea and this pulmonary malady. This carried over to food stuffs then to fear of proximity. 24/7 news coverage promotes a needless response to a virus similar to those we have encountered and overcome many times in the past.

Deaths are being reported and recorded as caused by Covid-19 when symptoms of the virus are concurrent with other debilitating diseases or ailments. This is like saying that Covid-19 is the cause of death when someone chooses early death (suicide) due to cancer when an autopsy displays signs of Covid-19. Thus, the actual mortality rate of this virus may well be far below that of our annual battles.

The best explanation for isolating and quarantining healthy people is control.

Control over:

*Economy – Financial collapse – unemployment – inflation – printing money – individual poverty – commercial/industrial poverty – recession/depression.

*Purchasing needs – Hysteria-created panic buying – from bathroom tissue to firearms and ammunition. However, some in government say you cannot purchase flooring for projects or jigsaw puzzles while confined to quarters.

*Physical activity – Arresting people paddle boarding off the coast, walking on public beaches or in public parks.

*Dress code – Enforced covering of face when in public – whether alone or with others.

*Healthy people – Quarantined, mandated isolation, assertively to protect self and others.

*Mindset – created fear of environment, evil virus may be out there. Wear a mask, social distancing, no physical contact, limit activity outside home.

Even within the Democrat party, if you are not of the “total control” mindset and choose to associate with people outside your party, you are to be censured; outcast, e.g. free thinkers Vernon Jones, Karen Whitsett.

Was “Jade Helm 2015” a prelude to what’s here today and what might be coming tomorrow? Was it an exercise to identify our reaction to an armed, uniformed presence?

THE CASE FOR LINE ITEM VETO

April 27, 2020

A quick bit of history to preface the need for the above title. In 1996, Bob Dole introduced the Line Item Veto Act that passed both the House and Senate and was signed into law by Bill Clinton on Nov. 5, 1996. The Act gave the president exactly the powers that a president should and must have. It allowed for the president to reject items in a bill that were not required for the bill to be reasonable and viable on it’s own.

The Supreme Court ruled in 1998 that line item veto gave the president (in that case William Jefferson Clinton who had signed the bill into law) unwarranted powers. The majority opinion at that time was, the president was required to approve or reject whole legislation and that the Line Item Veto Act allowed the president to “amend” legislation, which was an assault on the powers given to Congress under Article I.

As written, the majority opinion is correct. It would allow any president the opportunity to accept or reject any part or parts of any spending bill that he or she chose. However, the president still doesn’t have the final say on any legislation. Even when the president eliminates portions of a bill before signing, the product must then go back to the Senate for final approval or rejection. Thus, the president does not unilaterally amend the legislation, he or she only offers amendments for legislative body review. The Senate and House can accept, reject or offer further amendments then present the product to the president once again.

In 1998, however, the congress did not include such things as an $80 million study to identify “The Truth About how many Toads can be Handled by people before Warts Appear (TTATHWA)” in emergency spending bills to give relief to hurricane or flood victims. They did not include “federal security for Gated COMmunities (GCOM)” within their districts in bills directed at terrorism abroad.

Paying homage to Rahm “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste” Emanuel, congress has taken advantage of the court ruling by interjecting personal preference spending on pet projects that help the members win re-election campaigns. Knowing that the wholesale rejection of an “emergency relief” bill in a time of crisis would damage this president, majority congressional leaders made sure to include every previously lobbied project into the emergency relief to replace lost income due to the Coronavirus. And, in preparation of possible rejection, party leaders wrote damning speeches for media airing and publication well in advance of sending the bills to the presidential desk. Given that President Trump signed the ridiculous all inclusive spending bill, they will keep the boilerplate letters and speeches in archive for future use.

There was definitely a need for immediate financial relief to workers, but President Trump is where the buck stops when blaming begins on this one. Line item veto power would have saved billions of dollars to direct where truly needed.

With a majority in the House, these Utopian desires could be written as stand-alone bills. They might be written in a few pages that could be read, digested and understood before voting on them. However, in order for any hope of becoming part of the makeup of the U.S., they must be concealed in multi-hundred page documents that are rarely read before voting is called. If they were good, valid and useful additions to American society the authors would gladly accept recognition for his/her contributions. This is not the way our government was meant to operate. Let us hope that there is another argument brought before the Supreme Court to consider line item veto authority for the president.

THEY’RE COMING FOR YOUR FREEDOMS

April 24, 2020

As one who pays attention to the news – not just the propaganda of the right or the left – but both sides somewhat equally – there are opportunities to see how the public is influenced/manipulated.

For decades now progressives (read: Marxist/socialists) have been usurping more and more power. They have taken it from the blind among us and waved it about until none of us realize it’s gone. Now they’re accelerating their moves to eliminate our rights, freedoms and the Constitution of the United States in whole. Every calamity, every shattering event, every disaster is an opportunity to separate us from the humanity once offered by our forefathers for life in this country.

We cannot even trust the cable news programs to tell us what is happening at home or around the globe. Almost all of what they have to offer is slanted to meet a political need or desire. It’s not one side or the other, both are to blame. One news station expresses one political philosophy with emphasis only on the areas they want us to hear. The others collectively and repetitively pronounce the opposite. The broadcast stations incorporate leftest leanings into virtually every entertainment program offered. The brainwashing continues.

No longer is there a left and right to our political system. It is overrun by progressive ideology propped and enhanced by liberal media that loudly mocks and mobs conservative voices. Social media posts are content edited or censored entirely according to the political leanings of the sponsoring company. Labeling anything contrary to the political biases of Facebook, Mark Zukerberg has named them “harmful misinformation” that Facebook must strike from posts.

Just how is the balance upended? Progressive Democrats having the majority in the House of Representatives are now promoting mail-in ballots, no I.D. voting and ballot harvesting. All those methods of voting promote fraud and abuse of our system. They are all channeled to add progressive members to Congress and even to overtake the presidency.

Of recent, we have seen progressive governors and mayors take advantage of the current crisis in ways no freedom loving American would ever expect. Not only are we required to “shelter in place” leaving our homes only for necessities, those necessities are described in detail by the over-lording representatives. E.g. while most businesses and churches are required to be closed, high tax businesses and revenue streams continue to feed the government. Lottery tickets may still be sold along with liquor and marijuana. Flooring, however, cannot be purchased to keep stay-at-home occupants inside and busy with remodeling. Paddle boarding off the coast is forbidden despite the obvious social distancing and jogging or otherwise exercising alone on a sunny day will net you a citation and fine from the local constabulary.

These over-restrictive edicts represent what we can expect in the future if any more over-bearing progressives obtain office or positions of power where they can further inhibit and control “We the People”. Please be aware of what is happening before you, and vote wisely.

RELIANCE, INDEPENDENCE AND FREEDOM

April 2, 2020

The current pandemic should alert even the sleepy-eyed care-for-naught millennials and gen “Z” that reliance on China for the production of virtually every hard good, clothing item, machine component, food processing and a majority of our vitamins and pharmaceuticals is not a good thing. It should be a wake up call that dependence on others, at any time, for any reason, is not a good thing. We can work together for mutual benefit and help one another for efficiency or in times of need, but relegating responsibility for our well-being to another country must be avoided whenever possible.

Likewise, dependence on government (even our own) is often unreliable and harmful in the long term. It is damaging to us as individuals and to society in general. For a nation, a society or an individual to function properly it is necessary that we express our every capability to avoid dependence on others especially foreign and adversarial nations. <link>

The current and recent past generations are largely dependent on others for essentially everything; generations so addicted to having all needs and wants met as children that they demand continued support well into adulthood. Adults twenty-five and up often continue to live parasitically in the homes of their parents despite the capability to fend for themselves.

Some people are using this crisis for personal, political and/or financial leverage. The governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, is using this opportunity to back fill a shortage of ventilators at federal expense after refusing to allocate funds state funds to purchase and warehouse the inventory five years ago. Some are taking advantage of the situation for control measures to condition us for future ease of despotic establishment. This is what dependence engenders.

Far too many individuals forfeit their dignity for ongoing government assistance. They willingly relinquish their freedoms for the stipends they receive. (referring to those who refused to seek employment during the past three years when employers could not find enough people to fill their increasing needs as businesses expanded.) Then they sought safe spaces to cower and avoid confrontation of ideas differing from their own. Now they seek safe spaces to avoid a virus from a country that was never confronted.

As a nation, we have become complacent; willingly giving up our freedoms in exchange for expediency or simplicity. It is easy to go to Walmart and buy cheap clothing or small appliances or even food that comes from countries with few regulated sanitary or safety measures. (I use Walmart as an example only because it is the most widely known. Today, it could be virtually any discount outlet.)

What freedoms might we lose? Any, and possibly all, if reliance on subversives continues. Because of this pandemic, we have lost a portion of the first amendment (the right of the people to peaceably assemble). The greater ground we give up in the name of cheap and plentiful, the more freedoms we relinquish. The more we rely on others for care and support rather than personally investing the effort for autonomy, the weaker we become as individuals and as a nation.

Until this pandemic caused the nation to sequester and brought our economy to a virtual standstill, we were growing more independent and stronger. The collapse of the foundational structures of this and other nations has to do with dependence on a Communist nation whose leaders would like nothing better than to see total devastation of all competitors and economic and political adversaries.

No matter what you choose to call this pandemic, (Chinese Coronavirus, Wuhan Virus, COVID-19) it did come from a country on which we have allowed ourselves to rely. We get everything from shoes and socks to vitamins, vaccines and other medicines from them almost exclusively, and they have threatened to cut off our access to the aforementioned much needed remedies. During this time of medical crisis, we must as a nation and as individuals, reconsider how our future lives require self reliance and cooperation.
