FOR ALL THE TALK

August 13, 2012

During this tough campaign season there is a call for Mitt Romney to release tax returns for the past decade.  The din coming from the left and their media is all but deafening as the administration urges and energizes them.

The IRS has never questioned his filings – and they would be the first to do so.  The noise about taxes is for no purpose other than to turn the ignorant masses’ attention away from the fact that with all the spending done by Washington in the past three-and-a-half years, the country has not improved.  It has, in fact, deteriorated.  Some of the few jobs created through stimulus programs with annual salaries less than $40,000 cost the taxpayers over $200,000 each.  If I were an employer I would happily employ a bunch of people for a year to keep over $100,000 each.  Many of the jobs were also only temporary or were gubment gimmees.

All the while, we have a president who has spent upwards of three million dollars to seal virtually every document concerning his past.  He refuses to release his college records (grades or classes), scholarships or anything.  All are locked away from the eyes of the public.  His army of lawyers have seen to it that the reasons why both he and Michelle’s law licenses are on “inactive” status.  They have been long before they moved into the White House.  Rarely, very rarely, do politicians deactivate their licenses.  In fact, all members of congress who have passed the bar and are in good standing still hold their licenses.

The President’s place of birth is still in question because the birth certificate(s) that have been presented have been debunked as altered.  The Social Security number he is currently using was purportedly issued to a person with a mailing address in Connecticut.  Obama never lived in that state and refuses to identify why the card was sent to such an address.  There is much speculation regarding the possibility of other Social Security numbers having been used by Barry Soetoro, an alias used by Obama, and Barack Hussein Obama.

Liberal Democrats can’t really be bothered by the prospect that Mitt Romney may have cheated on his taxes 2, 3 or 5 years ago.  After all they accepted, and some even hailed, Timothy Geithner as the head of the Department of the Treasury even after he admitted that he didn’t pay the taxes due on some of his income or that of an employee, in spite of the fact that he withheld those taxes from his employee’s pay.

Democrats aren’t interested in seeking truth.  They’re not even interested in Romney’s taxes.  They are only interested in disrupting the system when things are not going their way.  They want to steal the brownie from your lunch when you look away.

I say, “Let’s have a full on document exchange”.

“UNDER MY PLAN…”

July 15, 2012

Excuse me, but I have seen the video and heard Obama say,

“I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.”            Barack Obama – Dover NH, Sept 12, 2008

http://www.humanevents.com/2012/07/14/top-10-obamacare-taxes-coming-your-way/

Is this a parsing of words because they are new taxes and not an increase of existing taxes?  Would he do it again just to get re-elected?  What is still up his sleeve if he has “more flexibility”?

Virtually everything we buy has had a tax increase since 2009.  Compliance fees and taxes imposed by just the FDA, and EPA have raised food costs by 17% and manufactured goods by 8%.  All at a time when fewer people are working and the average income for a family of four is down over $20,000/year because one or more family members has lost a job due to these policies.

TRUSTING GOVERNMENT

June 13, 2012

People around the world have always been suspicious of their governments.  Americans are no different.  If never before, we now have concrete reason to be skeptical and it is brought to you by an administration that promised to be the most ethical, honest and transparent in history.

In 1966, Congress passed the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).  President Lyndon B. Johnson reluctantly signed it.  Shortly after the enactment of FOIA in 1967, it became obvious that it would jeopardize the secretive inner workings of our elected officials.  Once the power elite identified the American public actually had concern for the sleazy underpinnings of the officialdom it became necessary to plug the holes that released information the questionably honest bureaucrats wanted to hide.

The Privacy Act of 1974 not only weakened FOIA, it offered so many ambiguous exemptions that it now, literally, takes an act of Congress – a Congressional Hearing – to extract information from the government that may be detrimental to the citizens of the country those officials are sworn to serve and protect.  We have executives in power who unabashedly hide behind the exemptions allowed by the Privacy Act.  The most famous and most abused of which is “national security”.

Other exemptions under the Privacy Act that appear to protect the very people who might be under suspicion of wrongdoing include: internal personnel rules, inter-and intra-agency memos and documents, personnel and medical files or information compiled by or for law enforcement that might interfere with enforcement or deprive a person the right to a fair trial.

With inter-agency and intra-agency memos exempted from FOIA by the Privacy Act, every government agency or department became autonomous and unaccountable.  When the Attorney General of the United States, the person in charge of the Justice Department, boldly tells a Congressional Investigative Committee that the term “Fast and Furious” does not refer to the gun walking operation by the code name “Fast and Furious” it is his Clintonesque (“It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is.”) way of delaying and denying due process.

The government now guards more information under exclusion than they tend to release.  Holder continues to jam the Congressional Hearings and cost the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars by refusing to provide the documents lawfully subpoenaed to identify the facts.

One political party and only one political party is controlling the investigation and one of those in control is, himself, under investigation.  Darrell Issa (R), chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has expressed concern that Congress needs to look into the Justice Department records and conduct, but Senate Democrats are stonewalling his efforts.

Democrats in the Senate also recently blocked a resolution to introduce an outside special counsel to investigate a number of recent military and intelligence leaks.  Thus, U.S. attorneys under the purview of the Attorney General, Eric Holder, and ultimately reporting to the President will be investigating any wrong-doing within the top levels of government regarding military intelligence and national security leaks.  This is the epitome of the fox guarding the hen house.

How far can this nation sink before the radical dictatorships abroad look welcoming?

A WELL REGULATED MILITIA

March 31, 2012

Our government is out of control.  The president continues to bypass or skirt congress to appoint radicals, create bureaucratic agencies that forge costly and highly restrictive regulating edicts to destroy business and control individuals.  The Constitution is tattered and tread upon with each presidential appointment and massive spending plan.  Congress has been neutered by the moves.

Former military bases have been converted to “FEMA emergency camps”.  Surrounded by high fences topped with concertina wire, they are said to have been transformed to house individuals and families in case of national disaster.  If that is the truth, why is there need for guard towers, 12’ fences and razor wire?

The NSA is building a $1.5 billion cyber data collection and storage center outside Bluffdale, Utah supposedly to intercept communiqués between terrorists and other national security threats.  Facebook, Twitter, text, email and phone conversations of any person can be monitored at any time in the name of “National Security” now.  The archiving of all such personal interaction soon will be norm of the realm.

Security cameras on virtually every street corner, drones patrolling our cities and countryside, communication monitoring and super prisons manned by government officials do not promote freedom.  They impede freedom and abase privacy.  The government is usurping our rights as citizens while telling us the intent is to protect us.  We cannot allow this to continue.

The Attorney General, as head of law enforcement for the United States, allowed violent Mexican drug cartels access to high-powered, high capacity and rapid firing weapons in what has been described as an attempt to show how easily criminals can obtain weapons.  This move, to some, represents an attempt to put greater restrictions on gun and ammunition purchases for the citizens of our country.  Many believe it was a harsh attempt to begin eliminating all firearms from personal use.

Given the above and knowing that the government will continue to appropriate more and more un-granted authority through the restriction or elimination our individual rights in direct violation of the first ten amendments to the Constitution, it is time to take action.

Amendment  II:  “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”.

It may be time to not only consider, but also begin forming a “well regulated Militia” before it is no longer possible.  I’m not suggesting an aggressively hostile, subversive or  anarchist type movement, just one that may need to defend American citizens from an overly abusive government.

We the People must protect one another from a tyrannical government.  Our representatives are becoming more intrusive and dictatorial with each administration.  They have become adversarial.  Each change of guard only builds upon the domination of the previous one.  If we complacently allow the outlawing of all firearms, which is the direction our elected and the appointed puppets of the Executive branch are headed, there will be no possibility of protecting ourselves against them.  That is their goal!

First, they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.

UN-JUSTICE DEPARTMENT

March 13, 2012

Eric Holder’s Department of Un-Justice strikes again.  The Civil Rights division has attacked the voting integrity in South Carolina and now Texas.

From AP

“Photo ID laws have become a point of contention in the 2012 elections.  Liberal groups have said the requirements are the product of Republican-controlled state governments and are aimed at disenfranchising people who tend to vote Democratic —, people of low-income and college students.”

Why do Democrats not have photo ID?  African-American, Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern, Canadian, rich or poor, it doesn’t matter, you must have a photo ID to cash a check, use a credit card, drive on public streets, apply for work, apply for Welfare or unemployment benefits or attend college.  My gym even has a photo of me on the check-in computer to make sure the person using my card is authorized to do so, me!

“Proponents of such legislation say the measures are aimed at combating voter fraud.  But, advocacy groups for minorities and the poor dispute that and argue there is no evidence of significant voter fraud.”

“There is no evidence of significant voter fraud?”  How many of the recent elections have been won by fewer than 500 votes or contested for recount because of questionable (read, fraudulent) registrations?  Can you say “Al Gore” or “Al Franken”?  How many times have we heard about voters who have been dead from two weeks to fifteen years or Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse voting?
