First a bit of American history for the uneducated public school attendees and graduates of the past few decades. This essay will serve to fill in for Gen-Xers and Millennials why conservatives dislike overbearing government intrusion. Unlike the subjects of submission and indoctrination taught today, this lesson will not include the acceptance of alternative lifestyles or gender confusion aboard ships sailing the Atlantic. The readers will be put upon to individually or collectively (I know you like that word) seek and define any micro-aggressions or cultural appropriations for which to find offense.

‘Twas December 16, 1773 when the Sons of Liberty decided to take action against the British government for establishing a tax directly on the Americas for imported tea. The colonists believed that the Tea Act should not include tea ordered from India for shipment directly to the new world.

The Tea Act followed the Stamp Act of 1765. The Stamp Act required all British colonies to use paper produced in Britain and embossed with a revenue stamp for documents used officially as well as many other uses such as newspapers etc. The tax restricted the colonies’ ability to function on their own and procure paper stock from companies and countries of choice outside of Britain’s rule.

These taxes inhibited the freedoms sought by the colonists and the reason for venture to the new land. They forced the colonies to comply with and submit to British rule without having a voice in Parliament representing their own well-being.

The colonists rightfully believed, that beyond restraining their rights and freedoms, the mandated tariffs allowed no input from the affected and offered little benefit. In rebellion to the ever increasing and ongoing taxes the British government demanded from its outlying entities, the Sons of Liberty destroyed an entire shipment of tea by throwing it into Boston harbor. This act of defiance became known as The Boston Tea Party. It was the first in a series of defiant and aggressive acts that culminated with the Revolutionary War.

Fast forward 243 years. We, Americans, find ourselves in a similar situation of obedience through taxation by a government we have submissively allowed to over-regulate every aspect of our lives. We have blindly and ignorantly granted a graduated decline of our economic, moral, spiritual and personal freedoms and rights. Significant and relatively rapid change is needed to avert adverse reaction.

Cloward and Piven, true non-violent anarchists of the 1960s, advocated for the destruction of our financial and economic systems by overwhelming the recently instituted Welfare program. They encouraged people, eligible or not, to participate in government handouts to the point of causing a monetary crisis and breaking the system. The end goal was the socialist ideal of a guaranteed annual income that would end poverty. Their strategy did not take hold as desired until the election of our outgoing president, an ardent disciple of America’s destruction.

As president, Obama has increased the government’s obligation to care for indigents by increasing taxation and regulation on businesses thereby reducing prosperity and employment. Rather than destroying the economy from outside the government as advocated by Cloward and Piven, he managed to suppress the nation from the top post of the United States and the free world. He did so by spending beyond the limits set by congress, inflating the economy and allowing a flood of needy immigrants. By encouraging, if not ordering, his appointed minions in various government agencies to enact unnecessary regulations handicapping business and job growth, they also contributed to the stagnation of our economy.

In his eight year span, President Obama expanded the welfare rolls by seeing to it that meaningful and gainful employment was minimized. (Between 2009 and 2016 welfare spending grew by nearly 19% and $150 billion.) The 84 year old Frances Fox Piven is proud of the accomplishment regretting only that her husband, Richard Cloward, is no longer alive to share in celebration.

In 2008 and without cohesive leadership, men and women banded in small groups throughout America managing to command attention under such names as TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party Patriots. The effort was recognizably insufficient to stifle the oncoming destruction. Either the president’s loyal followers continue to ignorantly deny the promised change as detrimental to the stability of the nation and the world or they accept and laud the affect of the design. The rise in popularity of Bernie Sanders is testimony to such sentiment.

Through the bi-annual elections since 2008, the people of the country have shown their support for the Constitution and disgust with the despotic, Marxist rule of our current administration by electing Republicans in all phases of government. With the election of 2016, there comes a significant change in the attitude and being of our national leaders. From the White House to congress to the governorships throughout the land, the people have shown their desire to return the nation to one of respect for the laws, opportunity and prosperity.

While it is yet too early to predict the outcome, the transition team is putting together a cabinet of patriotic military generals and other ranking officers who are disciplined and capable of righting the country once again. Their respect for the country and fellow countrymen is entirely different from the recent past administrations.

If the president elect can effect half of his campaign statements, there will be no need for a second confrontational uprising during the 244th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party as the government will no longer be one of repugnance and oppression. It will instead be one of support and security for the citizens.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good fight!

I heard it a few years ago. The Democrats were saying they wanted to raise taxes on gasoline but it was the wrong time; prices were too high. Well, now they are saying it is the opportune time because prices are low.

Just when the poor and stupid drivers think they have finally gotten some relief the government steps in.   Now that they are able to get to and from the jobs for which they are now underpaid because of federal regulations and taxes, they won’t balk at a twenty-five cent price rise, they’ll make do. Gu-huck, it jiss happened again. Gas gone up ’cause a them damned A-rabs! Guess I’ll jiss head down ta the Welfare office an’ git me some money ta live on.

You know the opportunistic money grab won’t go away when prices again rise. Seems to me, back in ’07 and ’08 I heard someone say something like,  “Under my plan of cap-and-trade, your energy costs will necessarily skyrocket”. Well folks, this is how it happens.  Just when you think you caught a break, the overbearing central government breaks your back and your spirit.

Work hard and vote Democrat in November. The federal cabal needs more of your earnings.

Some liberals, most liberals, don’t understand. They don’t understand anything to do with freedom, responsibility and caring. They cannot comprehend the difference between graciously sharing and stealing. They don’t see the difference between inviting a family member to share a meal and an unknown someone breaking into your home to steal your wallet.

For instance, Rep. Loretta Sanchez tried to justify theft of after tax dollars with the following inane questions.

She asks, “What work requirements are there to inherit up to $10 million tax free?” I ask, “What work requirements are there to receive Welfare?”

Then she asks, “Why is it that [a single mother] should be drug tested, which is an unrelated requirement to receive food assistance, to make sure that her family has enough to eat, and people who are lucky enough to inherit millions of dollars are literally required to do nothing to get the federal tax benefit with their inheritance?”

Ms. Sanchez is, as are so many liberal progressive Democrats, unable to recognize that one group to whom she refers willingly gives after-tax dollars to family members while the second group takes money earned by others for their own personal use. Using her own words, she seems to be okay with taking someone’s hard earned money to buy drugs.  Welfare to druggies is not putting food on the table. It’s taking other people’s money to enable a personal habit or addiction.  It’s another needle between the toes.

Perhaps if the individual on Welfare was tested he or she might have to do something other than spend endless days in la-la land. Maybe they could get a job from someone who inherited a business or started a business with inherited money.

She fails to comprehend that taxes have already been paid on earned money that is passed to family members. Taxing an inheritance is double taxation.

Did she not hear about what happened in Boston Harbor back in 1773? That, too, had to do with a government unduly taxing the hard working people of this country for no reason other than they could.

Due only to the fact that congress moves slowly, some of the nation’s drivers may have a chance to evaluate the proposed federal gasoline tax increase and make some noise. Back in January of this year, shortly after returning from their Christmas break, Sens. Bob Corker (R) and Chris Murphy (D) proposed a boost of 12 cents per gallon to the 18.4 cent federal gasoline tax.  This is to be phased in over the next two years.

It was agreed that the opportune time to gouge the American public levy a tax increase is when we’re not looking gasoline prices are down. If it’s done incrementally, starting when prices are affordable, the stupid voters won’t notice. At a press briefing, our friend Ms. Pelosi stammeringly offered, “I do think that if there’s ever going to be an opportunity to raise the gas tax, the time when gas prices are so low – oil prices are so low – is the time to do it”.

Just as with the pending Ice Age scare of the 60s that became the current Global Warming alarm, there is never a thought to natural or even controlled fluctuation. Since January, gasoline prices that have rebounded as much as 50 cents per gallon nationwide are projected to continue rising through mid-year.  Workday commuters already notice less money at the end of the pay period again. That’s without the proposed taxes.

A moderate additional tax on gasoline would certainly be reasonable if the revenues were actually used to improve or beautify our interstate highways, roadways and bridges. However, there is never a guarantee from the federal government that the money will actually be used for such.

I could be wrong, but I think it was Newton who said, “For every government program, there is an unequal and opposite controlling event”.

Q. What happened to the fund that was built out of the 18.4 cent per gallon tax?

A. Deferred highway maintenance allowed legislators to divert the money from Transportation and Safety to transporting illegal aliens to their ultimate U.S. destination and comprehensive studies to determine why ducks waddle across country roads.

In short, there’s another election on the horizon and more money is now needed to line the pockets of cronies and political donors. Reasonable gasoline prices are currently the most fitting target.

Don’t let them get away with another tax scam. After all, don’t you need what’s left of your money to pay the premiums and co-pay for your “affordable” health care?

This would be hilarious if it weren’t true. Even though my taxes will not go up because I don’t make $250K per year, I do drive.

Congress recently proposed taking advantage of reasonable pump prices to add a gouge tax upon us. They say it is necessary to rebuild damaged and aging roadway infrastructure. This is the first time in years that some people have felt able to visit relatives in neighboring cities or states by car. And the government wants to once again deprive them of that opportunity with their lust for your money.

Pelosi said during a press briefing in the Capitol. “I do think that if there’s ever going to be an opportunity to raise the gas tax, the time when gas prices are so low — oil prices are so low — is the time to do it.” But it’s not just Nancy and it’s not even just Democrats, it’s Republicans too.

The federal government now takes 18.4 cents from the sale of every retail gallon of gasoline. They get 24.4 cents on diesel fuel. That’s in addition to the taxes on refiners and distributors. Right now the government makes more money on petroleum distilates than the people and companies that produce them. But they want more! And what better time than when the ignorant public is bounding with joy because they can afford to drive to the supermarket again?

What happened to the gasoline tax money they’ve already extorted from us?  They “temporarily” borrowed much of it and pi$$ed it away on other things. Not unlike the Social Security Trust Fund.  Why would any idiot expect them not to do it again? Every time there is a surplus, or even a balanced fund, there comes a need to temporarily borrow from it. Temporary to government is forever to the rest of us.

Low information hybrid owners might say, “Duh,oh,okay, it won’t bother me that much” not realizing that there will be an offsetting federal tax attached to their registration. Why should any vehicle using the roads be exempt from overpaying for such use?

For those not attuned to government greed, the initial reason given for higher taxes on diesel fuel over gasoline began with the premise that diesel is used in heavier trucks and they do more damage to the roadways. Perhaps just an oversight (Yeah, right!) but there is no compensation for your Volkswagen Golf TDI. You, too, pay the additional weight offset and that is about to go up as well.

There was talk a few years ago about adding a mileage tax to state automobile registration.  One quarter of one cent per mile couldn’t hurt anybody. I think you only have to submit half that amount if you ride your bike or walk to work.

The good news…At the current rate of D.C. idiocy, we’ll soon be ruled by Sharia and this will be forgotten.
